Passenger Side Plumbing Plan

Passenger Side Plumbing Plan

The passenger side of the CTC will include an exterior water outlet point for rinsing, cleaning, and general utility use.
This plan documents the routing, components, installation considerations, and system integration for the passenger side plumbing.
As the build evolves, this side may also support additional service ports or outdoor water features.

Purpose of the Passenger Side Plumbing

The passenger side plumbing layout is designed around providing convenient exterior access to pressurized water without entering the trailer.
This is ideal for outdoor cooking, washing hands, cleaning tools, rinsing gear, or filling containers.

  • Exterior water outlet for general use
  • Cold water feed from the main manifold in the bathroom
  • Optional hot water feed depending on final heater routing
  • Future expansion for outdoor shower or winterization port

System Components

  • Exterior Water Outlet: A hose‑style or quick‑connect water port mounted on the passenger side wall.
  • Cold Water Line: PEX line routed from the bathroom manifold to the exterior outlet.
  • Optional Hot Water Line: If desired, a second PEX line routed from the hot water manifold.
  • Shutoff Valves: Interior valves to isolate the exterior outlet during winterization or storage.
  • Backflow Protection: Prevents contamination of the fresh water system.
  • Optional Access Panel: For servicing the outlet and shutoff valves.

Routing Strategy

The passenger side plumbing routing is designed for reliability, freeze protection, and ease of service.

  • Short, direct routing from the bathroom manifold to the passenger wall.
  • Interior routing wherever possible to avoid freeze exposure.
  • Shutoff valves placed inside the bathroom or hallway for easy access.
  • Optional hot water line routed alongside the cold line if outdoor hot water is desired.
  • Backflow prevention installed at or near the outlet.

Installation Notes

These guidelines ensure a clean, safe, and durable installation.

  • Exterior Port Mounting: Install on structural framing for strength.
  • Wall Penetration: Use sealed grommets and waterproofing around the outlet.
  • Line Support: Secure PEX lines with clamps to prevent vibration.
  • Shutoff Valves: Install inside the trailer to isolate the exterior port during winterization.
  • Optional Mixing Valve: If hot water is added, a mixing valve can regulate temperature.
  • Testing: Pressure‑test the line before closing any walls.

Integration With the Plumbing System

The passenger side outlet ties into the main plumbing system as a branch off the cold (and optionally hot) water manifold.

  • Cold Water: Manifold → Shutoff Valve → Exterior Outlet
  • Hot Water (optional): Heater → Manifold → Shutoff Valve → Exterior Outlet
  • Grey Water: No grey water routing on the passenger side
  • Toilet: No connection to passenger side plumbing
