Project Visibility and Following

NPPSC gives Project owners control over who can view their build record while allowing builders to follow useful public Projects and revisit their activity over time.

Project Visibility Options

Choose a visibility setting when creating or editing a Project. The setting can be changed later from Edit Project.

Public

Any logged-in NPPSC user can open the Project and view the Project documentation available at the public access level.

Followers

The Project owner and Project followers can access the Project. This supports a more limited sharing tier.

Private

Only the Project owner can access the Project and its documentation.

Visibility affects the Project record and related content. Public Component knowledge, including public usage counts and installation notes, is derived only from public Projects.

Follow a Public Project

When viewing a public Project owned by another builder, use the Follow Project button in the Project header.

1
Find a public Project Use Discover Builds, Completed Builds, a Component page, or a direct Project link.
2
Select Follow Project The Project is added to your Followed Projects list.
3
Review Project activity Revisit the Project for Journal entries, Components, Build Area updates, Media, and other documented activity.

Manage Followed Projects

The Followed Projects page lists Projects you follow, most recently active first.

From this page, you can:

Unfollowing a Project removes it from your Followed Projects list. It does not change the Project owner’s record or affect other followers.

Project Questions and Access

Project Questions remain connected to the Project and, when selected, a relevant Build Area.

Public Projects

Logged-in users can view public Questions and may use the Ask Question action available on the public Project.

Followers Visibility

Project followers can view public and followers-visible Questions available to their access level.

Launch Policy

Followers-visible Projects are read-only for followers regarding new Questions. New Questions are created by owners or on public Projects.

Project Activity

Project Activity provides a chronological view of documented Project events. The Activity page can include Project updates, Components, Media, Costs, Questions, answers, Build Area changes, and Project completion events when available.

Use the Activity link in Project navigation to review the Project’s documented history.

Notification Preferences

From your Followed Projects list, select Notifications for a specific Project to manage that Project’s notification preference.

Notification preferences are managed per followed Project, so you can keep following a build while adjusting how closely you want to track its updates.
